Adolescent girls have the right to a safe, educated and healthy life, not only during these critical formative years, but also as they mature into women. The International Day of the Girl on October 11, 2024 focuses attention on the need to address the challenges girls face and to promote girls’ empowerment and the fulfilment of their human rights. Celebrate the International Day of the Girl Child with the Zonta District 3 UN Committee during a virtual event on October 5th as we explore how adolescent girls are envisioning their futures and how we can support their dreams. The event will feature discussions on global initiatives, local success stories, and developing a vision for the future.
